and Dom Woodward. Alan was excellent, he was very
genuine, funny and terrific value. Dom on the other hand was rubbish! Just kidding! He rose to the

Can you pass on my thanks to Mark Rough and
Dermot Gallagher for their efforts. Dermot went down

Dermot Gallagher and Mark Rough contributed to a very good
evening overall. I thought the service and value for money was excellent and
I will have no hesitation in contacting you for next year's event. Having booked speakers for the last six years, one thing I found
useful that other agents don't seem to give is a mobile contact for the
evening - does reassure you that you can be in contact very easily if things
go wrong!

Mark Rough helped make Didcot
Rugby Club's 75th Anniversary Dinner a night to remember. He pitched his act
at just the right level, a little cheeky but not 'blue' at all, and had the
audience in stitches. Speakers and Comedians provided an excellent
professional service with good communication throughout the booking process
and were fantastic value for money. I would not hesitate to use them or
Mark again in the future and whole heartedly recommend them to anybody

The night was a real success - thanks. Derek
Randall was everything we had hoped he would be and has lost none of the
youthful enthusiasm for life with which he entertained us in his playing
days. Great company at the dinner table and a real pleasure for me as he
was one of my boyhood heroes. He confided in me that he has found
non-cricketing audiences a bit tough sometimes but he was very much on safe
home ground here, with an audience who were hanging on his every word - I had
to stop twice for applause whilst introducing him! He stayed until gone
midnight - chatting and posing for photos with anyone and everyone who wanted
them. He seemed to be in his element and certainly gave the impression that
he had a good time himself! Bill Woolland was
professional in every respect and really well-received. Clearly, he cut
his cloth accordingly, having judged his audience well and is
a very funny guy. An excellent recommendation for a mixed audience - thanks. We are planning future events and will certainly

Had a fantastic night with Jamie Sutherland and
David Johnson. David's session was great, turning it into a q & a
session which was appreciated by punters. Jamie's turn was excellent, second
time I've seen him with a good balance of gags with regards the audience both
male/female, some late 20's others not so young! We raised £1560 through the
event and will definitely consider putting on a similar event next year and I
would certainly recommend speakers and comedians to other people interested
in putting on a fundraising night. Your service and response has been top
notch and a special thank you to Mark for taking last minute phone calls from

Just 7 weeks
before our cricket club dinner in February our main speaker dropped
out due to a forthcoming operation. I contacted Mark from "Speakers
and Comedians" who we had received excellent service from in 2008.
They came up trumps and arranged for Arnie
Sidebottom to speak at our event. Everything went smoothly from
then on. On the night
itself and despite the awful weather, Arnie arrived
in plenty of time and took time to chat to members and guests. He was
very engaging. His speech was eagerly anticipated and he did not
disappoint. Apart from the laughter, you couldn't hear a pin drop as
everyone in the room listened to Arnie's wonderful
cricket and football tales. Amongst others, being able to speak about
playing with Boycott and Best must make Arnie
unique on the circuit. It was a great night, thank you. As for
"Speakers and Comedians" I cannot be more grateful. An

May I start
by saying both Alex Murphy and Mark Rough are an absolute credit to their
professions, our club has been running 1/2 sportsman's dinners every year for
the last 10 years and I think everybody who attended on Friday night would
agree that this was by far the most enjoyable yet. |

I would
like to report that Big Norman Whiteside was the best speaker we've ever
hired for our lunchtime events. The day was a huge success and generated a
substantial amount for club funds. Having been to many events and organised a

It's the day after our presentation night and I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for arranging Dermot Gallager and Mark Rough for our entertainment. Dermot had story after story about his days as a top ref. It was a real bonus for us that our night coincided with Dermot now becoming a bit of a TV celebrity and I can only see his fee increasing in the future. I would not hesitate in recommending to any other club or organisation that they should get in now and book Dermot for the evening. He was a perfect gentleman and mingled chatting with our crowd before and after his speech and stayed behind chatting in the bar for at least an hour afterwards. Mark was just the same, a really nice bloke on and off the stage and his routine was spot on for the type of audience we had in. He was on for a full hour and was extremely funny and all I can add really is that we had ages ranging from 16 to 80 in that room and I never received a single complaint. He stayed with us having a pint (or two) until the early hours and was like a long lost friend. Thank you again for arranging all this, Speakers and Comedians handled this very professionally throughout. We are only a small village local football set-up and this was all a bit of a gamble, but I need not have worried because it was the best grand we ever spent and even made money on the raffle etc. and I will be in touch in good time for next year.
